Guiding principles for all our activities

  • The objective of OceanRabble is to conserve the ocean and have fun doing so.

  • Whatever we do contributes to environmental protection in general and marine conservation in particular.

  • Searching for and decontaminating wrecks, cleaning coasts and building boats and ships only works as a team.

  • We are committed to liberty, equality, diversity, fairness and solidarity and firmly reject any form of racism, fascism or discrimination of any kind.

  • We strive for win-win-win situations for everyone involved – a win for you, for the organisation and, above all, for our ocean.

  • The organisation is a not-for-profit and is to be created as a foundation or association without owners in, and in partnership with, a country that supports our environmental conservation efforts and shares our values.

  • Hierarchies should be kept as flat as possible

  • Ideally, the most competent person for a given task will perform or lead it

  • Our shipbuilding activities must be as environmentally friendly as possible, in other words, with the lowest possible impact.

  • We build the most seaworthy, strongest and most durable wooden boats and ships for us, for like-minded organisations, individual activists, and all those who want to earn their living sustainably and environmentally consciously with the or at sea and contribute to the conservation of the oceans
  • We preserve the traditional craftsmanship of boat building and combine it with modern manufacturing methods, but  under no circumstances we do want to become an industrial enterprise
  • We support artisanal fishermen in particular in their transition to sustainable energy with solid, honest boats at prices that are close to the costs
  • We support sustainable passenger and freight transport with our boats and ships
  • We also want to be a model project as an enterprise and believe in
    • Freedom -we believe in each other, and will allow, help and empower our fellow Co-Creators to grow in knowledge, skill and scope of responsibility
    • Fairness – together, we are responsible for sustaining an engaging enterprise built on inclusiveness, striving to be fair with each other and everyone with whom we do business
    • Commitment – we make and keep our own commitments to demonstrate personal responsibility to each other, our teams and our customers
  • We encourage volunteers to help us realise our missions.

  • As soon as our first LRV is in service, we will transport our co-creators and all the building materials we need emission-free ourselves and thus significantly reduce our carbon footprint further.
